Exciting Poodles (because I use the word stuff too often)

So as you can see from the title of this post, I have some exciting stuff to share. First, a huge thanks to all that have purchased Hashbrown and have given me feedback. Everyone's been very positive and I'm glad you got a good laugh. Now, spread the word in your inner circles. It would do me a tremendous favor if you could go on Amazon and Barnes and Noble and review it, preferably glowing reviews :)

Secondly, I just signed an agency agreement with Ann Behar of Scovil Galen Ghosh Literary Agency based in NY. This is a huge step for me and my writing career. Ann has quite the track record as does her agency. Check out the website CLICK HERE. She's going to help with future contracts for my books and negotiations, and it's such a relief to have her representing me. She's awesome and definitely no nonsense. I've barely known her a week and she's already slapped my hand via the web. I love it.

Thirdly, I have a contract for the second Hashbrown Winters adventure. This one's called The Adventures of Hashbrown Winters and the Mashimoto Madness. I'm told it could be out as early as January, which is amazing to me. Of course, this is all based on sales, so I need the word to spread like wild fire. The more kids you can get to read it the better. Now, I'll do my share as well. I'll be heading on a school tour in September for approximately 3 weeks and if all goes well, I'll start popping up all over the place, maybe even in town near you. If you have kids that go to school (hopefully) and you think the school might be interested in having me come visit, contact the school's librarian and talk me up. I'd love to come and make your kids laugh and get excited about reading. I will, however, probably bum a bed off you, so that might kill the deal. But I promise to always smell nice (Old Spice) and I'll even make your family scrambled pancakes (my specialty.) Okay, seriously don't worry about the whole bumming a bed, that was a joke (kind of.)

Anyways, I'm almost done with my final edits of The Tebah Stick which is a completely different book than anything I've ever written. It is an action/adventure novel (the first of four)focusing on a 15-year-old girl named Amber who, along with three of her closest friends, race around the globe to stop an evil organization from finding a biblical artifact capable of destroying the human race. The story is similar to what you'd find in an Indiana Jones film, but with sort of a Goonies feel to it. There's plenty of action, suspense, betrayal and some horror, but it also has a lot of humor. I've got a lot of writing projects on my plate right now which is a great problem to have. I have to rewrite The Gothian Box (my first novel), start and finish the 3rd Adventures of Hashbrown Winters novel by mid-October, and I have a new Sci-fi Middle Grade novel that won't let me sleep at night.

Lastly, I want to do a contest on this blog. There's going to be a really cool contest on my website coming up for Elementary and Junior High aged kids that I'll tell you about in the upcoming weeks, but this one is just for my faithful blog readers and anyone else that happens upon my blog (intentionally or by mistake.) Now, I'm taking a risk here, putting my neck out there, so I want some participation even if you don't care about the prize. For anyone that reviews my book on Barnes and Noble or Amazon, I'll give you one entry into the drawing. For anyone that spreads the word on Facebook to their various circles of friends, I'll give you another entry into the drawing. Next, if you write a complete blog post on your personal blog about my book (review it, or just tell the world that you know quite possibly the coolest person in the world which isn't me, but that I still wrote a book,) I'll give you 2 entries into a drawing. Now, the only way I'm going to know about this, is if you add a comment to this post. See, that's where my neck gets put on the line. So far, I get 1-2 comments a post if I'm lucky. This could be very embarrassing if no one comments and I don't like getting embarrassed. So, comment! Say hi or tell me about what you're having for dinner if you choose not to participate in the contest. Say something! But Frank what do we win? Of course it will be some sort of book and since hopefully most of you already have my book, I'll do something better. Here's the list of books I have up for grabs. The winner can choose whichever one they want and I have a pretty decent selection:

The Hourglass Door by Lisa Mangum

Pillage by Obert Skye

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

Adventurers Wanted Slathbog's Gold by M.L. Forman

Farworld by J. Scott Savage

The Adventures of Hashbrown Winters by some doofas, but it will be signed!

All of these are hardcover with the exception of the last one since it wasn't printed in hardcover and you can pick whichever one you want. The drawing will be completely random. I promise to show no favoritism and I'll even make sure I have witnesses (my wife and kids.) I'll run the contest for 2 weeks. That means August 8th is the cut-off date.

So what do you say? Get out there and spread the word. If anything, do it because you know I'm a pretty decent guy, albeit out of shape and psychotic when I'm sleeping, but a decent fellow none the less.

Also, we now officially have a guest bedroom, so you can actually stay with us. Plus, the nearby Pearce Palace has enough room for your entire family! And we're by the beach! So come visit!

Hey Hey Frank...It was done last week long before this whole contest thing (but you can put my name in the drawing anyway). I've got my peeps in Oregon, Tennessee and of course Utah harassing the B&N people for your book. Good Luck to you and Heidi she deserves it, oh and you too :)

Read the book and enjoyed it! I read it in a manner of days. Now if only Marty had time to sit down and read. :)
We recently gave a copy of it to our SIL in Moab that teaches 3rd grade. We're doing our part too. I have another friend that teaches 2nd grade in Salt Lake, but don't have a copy to give her right now so I'll blog about it when I finally get caught up so she can find out about it too.

I just ordered it on Amazon and will read it and review as soon as I get it. The few pages I got a sneak peak of from Amazon looked hilarious and reminded me of stories Michael used to retell from you.
