And so it begins...

First off, before I start in my actual blog post, let me tell you some good news. I've lost 6 pounds since starting my own makeshift diet. 6 pounds!! What does that mean? I don't know and I can't tell a difference, but six pounds is six pounds. Now, let me clarify, I may have divorced those pounds, but unfortunately I have visitation rights on the weeked, especially this one which is a holiday. So, those 6 pounds will probably come and visit me and I'm sure they'll bring a few of their friends. Oh well, enough about that.

I have some announcements to make.

First, there's going to be a release party for the Adventures of Hashbrown Winters on July 13th (Monday) at 7:00 p.m. at Union Park which is 7360 S. 700 E. in Midvale, UT. I have to give a big thanks to two of my employees (Elise and Melanie) for setting everything up. From what I hear, there will be refreshments, and I may do some reading of something (maybe the Wall Street Journal, which should be riveting. No, my book, sillies!) And of course, I'll sign books. I'm not sure if we'll have books there to buy, but I'm looking into it. So, you may want to stop by my store and pick up your copies or go to Barnes and Noble, whatever floats your boat. The invitation is to anyone that's my friend and anyone that reads this blog! I don't want to be all by myself. So, everyone, free up an hour for a little family fun, bring your kids and come on out and hang! I'll probably even do some stupid pet tricks just for fun. I'm serious! I better see everyone there and I'm keeping tabs. :)

Second, though I will be signing at the release party, I have my first official book signing scheduled. It's July 21st from 10-12 a.m. at the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days in the Confetti Antiques store. I've never actually done a signing before, so if you're in the area, stop by and keep me company.

I have two other signings that aren't confirmed yet. One in American Fork in July and the other in Orem in August. I'll keep you posted when I find out more on those.

Then, at the end of July, I believe I'm starting an official school tour sponsored by Cedar Fort! It's so crazy! I'm going to be visiting schools, doing a presentation, hopefully making kids laugh and get excited about reading. I'm actually nervous and I'm not quite sure what to talk about, but you know me, I'll think of something. As soon as I find out more on the tour, I'll post it. I think I may be starting in the West Jordan area first and then working my way around the state. If all goes well, I may even be traveling across the country. Crazy!

Lastly, I have more exciting news, but I can't post about it just yet, because I'm still in the midst of finalizing everything. It's really cool and I hope all goes well, and in about a week or so, you should know about it. How's that for vague?

Oh, check out my new website too! http://www.hashbrownwinters.com/

It's still under construction, but they've printed it in the second addition of the Adventures of Hashbrown Winters so there should be some new stuff added soon!

Okay, that's it. I've used my quota of exclamation points for the week. Please come to my party on the 13th and if you can, come visit me at my signings. I can't handle quiet and I maybe all by myself. Aarrgh!

Wish I could be there. But who knows? Maybe you'll be a smashing success and travel across the country to little ol' Florida! I haven't forgotten your promise to autograph my copy, but I promised The Hub that I wouldn't buy any more "stuff" until after the move. Like one more book would make that much of a difference?!
